The aim of the competition is to promote good practice in the field of building energy efficiency and sustainability, by implementing energy-efficient construction, renovation, and reconstruction, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and promoting public understanding of well-being, building thermal retention, indoor microclimate, and the importance and possibilities of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to create a high-quality, architecturally expressive living space.

The competition regulations this year have been prepared in cooperation with the partners of the information campaign "Dzīvo siltāk" organized by the Ministry of Economics – the European Commission Representation in Latvia, the Latvian Association of Civil Engineers, the Association of Latvian House Managers and Administrators, the Association of Latvian Window and Door Manufacturers, the State Building Control Office, the State Fire and Rescue Service, Riga Technical University, Riga Stradins University, the Association of Building Material Manufacturers, the Association of Latvian Mineral Wool Manufacturers, and the Union of Heat, Gas, and Water Technology Engineers of Latvia.

The competition is co-financed from the European Union fund resources.
