The youth festival "Artišoks 2024" - an opportunity to reach out to the young people

With the aim to raise awareness of the young people on sustainable mobility and encourage the younger generation to shift their travelling behaviour towards public transport and micro-mobility options, the Ministry of Transport participated in the Sports and Youth Festival "Artisoks" in Daugavpils on August 3.

During the festival the young people had the possibility to get involved in the activity programme "Sustainable mobility stop" which provided for a variety of educational and entertaining activities on the topic of sustainable mobility - quizzes on safety when travelling with micro-mobility tools, a photo corner where young people could take photos and post them on their social media accounts, as well as participate in the "Try on your driving glasses" activity provided by the State Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD). The children and young people were invited to test their knowledge on road safety. The event also included a survey on young people's views on improving road safety in Latvia. To celebrate 20 years since Latvia became a full-fledged Member State of the European Union, the visitors had a possibility to get acquainted with a poster exhibition on EU-funded projects that improve our daily commuting.
