AERONES is working on very large drones that can carry up to 100 kilograms. The AERONES drone has lifted a parachutist 330 meters during a test, making the world's first parachute jump from a drone.

AERONES is developing a high-performance multi-rotor aircraft with a payload capacity of up to 100kg, a remote control and autonomous flight capability solution and an automated safety system or electronics (sensor bus) solution.

In order to transform pilot projects carried out under specific test conditions into a service available to the public, AERONES is exploring different solutions to achieve the required flight safety of multi-rotor aircraft by applying sensors for distance, altitude, pressure, acceleration, speed and environmental scanning and measurement, improving the control capabilities of multi-rotor aircraft through a combination of telemetry and pre-programmed route guidance.

This enables:

  1. Drone piloting with a high level of safety at a fixed altitude from the ground,

  2. Automatic reporting to avoid wires and trees,

  3. Safe remote piloting, following the frequency constraints,

  4. Drone piloting in bad weather conditions.

The project is implemented in cooperation with Riga Technical University.

The total amount of the project is 686 100,00 EUR, including 240 135,00 EUR co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

The video below shows the development and testing of the drone.
