Animated short film about resocialisation of prisoners, part 1.

The planning of the resocialisation process is based on the level of the risk of criminal behaviour, focusing on the unmet needs that lead to criminal behaviour and the relevance of the resocialisation content to the learning style, motivation, abilities and strengths of the convicted person.

The animation "Before. Prison. After" is the story of a boy named Bruno Bērziņš nicknamed Chiriks and his first offences, his imprisonment and his efforts to reintegrate back into society with the support of the Prison Administration (PA) and the State Probation Service (SPS) specialists, as well as his family, volunteers and neighbours.

The first part of the short film tells the story of Bruno's life before prison - domestic conflicts in the family, his father's departure from the family, being in bad company and his first offences.

Since 2017, the Prison Administration, in cooperation with the State Probation Service and the State Employment Agency, has been implementing two projects co-funded by the European Social Fund - "For the integration of former prisoners into society and the labour market" and "Increasing the efficiency of the resocialisation system" - which aim to strengthen the knowledge of resocialisation staff in working with prisoners and to help prisoners prepare for life in freedom during their imprisonment.
