Since 2016, the Latvian prison administration has been implementing the ESF co-financed project "Integration of ex-prisoners into the society and the labor market". The total budget of the project is 4 486 638 euros, of which 85% is financed by the European Social Fund and 15% is co-financed by the state. Within the framework of the project, the system of voluntary work in the execution of criminal penalties is being improved. The aim of the project is to provide support to prisoners and ex-prisoners by offering specific support measures, as well as by developing and implementing new support methods for the target groups, including developing volunteer work and active involvement of family members, promoting the integration of the target groups into the society and promoting the involvement of former prisoners in labour market.

The award and the video were created by the European Social Fund project of the Ministry of Justice "Technical assistance to the Ministry of Justice as the responsible institution in the implementation of information and publicity measures (2019-2021)". The projects is 85% financed by the European Social Fund and 15% by the state budget.
