Mobility of the State Border Guard is improved for guarding the external border

On December 31, 2021, the project No. VRS/IDF/2019/3 “Improving the mobility of the State Border Guard”, financed by the Internal Security Fund has ended.

Within the framework of the project, the following was purchased:

  • eight operational cars;

  • two operational cars for the State Border Guard Aviation Board (SOD “Sigma”);

  • two passenger cars for use by liaison officers;

  • one specially equipped mobile surveillance complex car to be used for participation in FRONTEX activities at the external border of the European Union, including training of eight State Border Guard officials to work with the mobile surveillance complex;

  • twelve Schengen passenger cars;

  • required auxiliary equipment for automobiles (video recorders, video and audio surveillance dome cameras, document testers, mobile phones, multifunction devices).

The project has resulted in improved mobility of the State Border Guard for external border security, including strengthened border control, control of compliance with conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals and the possibility of rapid response to emergencies.

Total financing of the project was EUR 1 709 788.86, of which the European Union funding was EUR 1 538 809.97, while co-financing of the state budget was EUR 170 978.89.
