Movie nights 2023 - conversations about mental health

To increase public awareness of mental disorders, the Ministry of Welfare organized special events during International Mental Health Month, October, in five cities of Latvia - Smiltene, Daugavpils, Tukums, Kuldiga, and Bauska - with the joint viewing of the film "The Peanut Butter Falcon" and discussions about people with mental health disorders in movies and reality. 

Film expert Sergejs Timonins led the events and talked about cinema. Visitors also had the opportunity to meet and get to know Arvids Deniss, who shared his experience on the way to a fulfilling life in society.

Cinema evenings with the financial support of European Union funds have been organized in Latvia for the fourth year already.
