How often do we think about, how do our children feel at school, in family our in our society in general? Is a bad mark in maths equivalent to carelessness, laziness, or is there a deeper meaning? How often do we hear our children expressing that they do not want to go to school? Have we even thought about, why is it so?
The State Education Quality Service (IKVD) implements the European Social Fund project No 8.3.4.0/16/I/001 “Support for the Reduction of Early School Leaving” to reduce the number of learners who drop out of school. It is planned to involve at least 80% of municipalities, covering no less than 665 general and vocational education institutions.
The project promotes the development of a system of sustainable cooperation between the municipality, educational institutions, teachers, support staff and the parents or representatives of learners in order to identify learners who are at risk of dropping out in due time and provide them with personalized support. Project has two main target audiences general education school students (grade 5 to 12) and state vocational education institution students, including students in general education institutions that implement vocational education programs (grade 1 to 4).
Teachers are provided with the opportunity to develop professionally and to strengthen their skills in working with learners. Methodological tools have been developed within the framework of the project. A database has been created, which ensures the regular exchange of information at the level of the state, municipality and educational institution regarding learners who have been identified with the risk of early school leaving, the preventive measures taken and their results. It provides complete statistics, as well as allows for long-term evaluation of the effectiveness of the measures.
Within the framework of PuMPuRS, series "Class" (Klase) was created, where discussion was held about the important things in a simple, free and entertaining way, making one think about children and about your co-responsibility. In each of the programs, we see the story of a young person who will openly talk about their feelings at school, problems related to studies and their place in the classroom, school and family. Each program allows you to openly look into the professional life of a well-known personality, to go back with them to their school days, revealing still unknown facts about what they experienced during childhood and school, as well as the crises and problems experienced during adolescence.
