Thanks to EU funding, support for asylum seekers continues

During the implementation period of the European Union Funds project from January 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024, the the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs in cooperation with the State Provision Agency and the Information Center of the Ministry of the Interior, has done a lot to support asylum seekers.

Material, medical, psychological assistance, and translation services were provided to 2451 asylum seekers.

In July 2024, within the framework of the project, two new electric passenger minibuses were purchased for the needs of asylum seeker accommodation centers in Mucenieki and Liepna.

The State Provision Agency carried out infrastructure improvements at the center, including interior renovations, sanitary facilities upgrades, and the construction of two electric vehicle charging stations.

In cooperation with the Information Center of the Ministry of the Interior, a video surveillance system was maintained at the Liepna asylum seeker accommodation center, data transmission was ensured, and daily maintenance of office equipment was provided.
