Central Finance and Contracting Agency

Hospital infrastructure in Madona Hospital is renewed by renovating the old part of the hospital block, and the material and technical basis for the rendering of health services is improved.

Improvements to the hospital’s infrastructure have expanded the outpatient ward, allowing a smoother flow of patients to specialist doctors. The premises on the second floor of the old wing are renovated to house the children’s ward, providing them with modern equipment, an improved environment and increased safety for young patients.

The outpatient and children’s wards are equipped with new furniture and medical equipment. New equipment has been purchased with EU funding, replacing equipment in the hospital that has outlived its life:

·         inpatient digital X-ray, providing high-quality X-ray examinations;

·         a multifunctional operating table used for gynaecological, surgical, trauma and orthopaedic surgeries;

·         an ultrasound machine with special examination programmes has been purchased for the radiology department to provide higher-quality examinations and high-resolution images, which the hospital’s previous equipment could not provide;

·         an anaesthesia machine with a monitor has been purchased with different pulmonary ventilation modes and a patient monitoring system to help patients reduce post-operative complications and anaesthetic use, and allow more time for patient treatment and care;

·         digital mammography equipment which will be able to provide high-resolution examination images;

·         laparoscope equipment with a full set of instruments, providing the hospital with quality services — acute and scheduled surgeries in surgery, gynaecology (including hysteroscopy, resectoscopy) and traumatology;

·         The project has been implemented from the beginning of 2019 until 31 July this year; of the total project cost of EUR 1.1 million, the European Regional Development Fund has provided more than EUR 935,000.
