Activities implemented in 2024 within the framework of the EU co-funded project "Modernization of the unified migration information system software platform (phase 1)"

The Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, within the framework of the EU co-funded project "Modernization of the unified migration information system software platform (phase 1)", implemented several tasks in 2024.

E-service development:

Following the conclusion of a development contract, the development of an e-service for residence permits has begun. The e-service will provide clients with a convenient way to apply for the service electronically, submit documents, make payments, and receive a decision on the execution. The e-service is expected to be available from 2027.

Call center:

The provision of the information telephone service continues to provide consultations on migration and residence in Latvia. The most frequently asked questions concern the topic of residence permits.

Processing of personal files:

To promote the circulation of digital documents within the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, the project includes the digitization of personal files, thus contributing to the availability of electronic services.

Development of video clips:

Work is being carried out on the development of informational videos on various migration issues – the establishment of foreign start-ups in Latvia, the processing of the EU Blue Card, seasonal work, visas, etc. A total of six videos will be created.
