An integration step - asylum seekers explore the history and traditions of Alūksne

An integration step - asylum seekers explore the history and traditions of Alūksne

Ministry of the Interior

In the second half of January 2025, an introductory course on life in Latvia for asylum seekers currently residing at PMIC "Liepna" successfully concluded.

The final sessions focused on Latvian history, traditions, and culture, and took place at the Alūksne Regional Museum. The introductory course participants learned not only about Latvian history but also about the history of Alūksne, and viewed the unique collection of clocks and folk costumes.

Thank you to the Alūksne Museum and PMIC "Liepna" for their cooperation, which allows the introductory course sessions to be not only valuable but also interesting!

The project "Latvia – a country by the Baltic Sea!" is implemented with the support of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021–2027 period, grant agreement no. PMIF/13.3./2023/1/04.
