International cooperation in border management, thanks to EU support

From February 18-21, 2025, the Chief of the State Border Guard, General Guntis Pujāts, participated in the annual Regional Steering Group meetings of the European Union-funded project "Border Management Programme in Central Asia, 10th Phase" (BOMCA 10), which took place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The purpose of the meetings was to present the results achieved in 2023-2024, find solutions to problems, and discuss better ways to achieve the program's goals, as well as to approve the 2025 work plan, together with the beneficiaries from Central Asian countries, representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the European Union embassies accredited in Turkmenistan, international donors, and the European Delegations in Central Asia.

Additionally, the results of the National Steering Groups' work were presented during the meetings, and agreements were reached. Also, to promote the program's implementation in accordance with the set objectives, additional internal program meetings took place, including with the program's donor
