Minister of the Interior Rihards Kozlovskis attends informal meeting of EU Justice and Home Affairs Ministers

On January 30, 2025, Minister of the Interior Rihards Kozlovskis participated in the informal meeting of the European Union Ministers of Justice and Interior in Warsaw.

At the meeting, EU interior ministers discussed new solutions to migration management as well as strengthening Europe's civil and military preparedness.

Ministers also discussed the main challenges and threats to the EU's internal security, as well as measures and initiatives to strengthen it. The European Commission is currently working on a new EU Internal Security Strategy to be published this year.

As part of his visit, Rihards Kozlovskis met with Dutch security minister David van Weel to discuss the mishaps by fans of Dutch football club Ajax outside the Freedom Monument in the week gone by.
