On September 8-9 Open Days of European Union Fund Projects in Latvia

Come, evaluate achievements and get information about the projects implemented in your region with assistance of the European Union cohesion policy financing! This is an invitation to the Open Days of European Union Fund Projects in Latvia that will take place on September 8-9 in all the territory of Latvia and will inform citizens about the EU fund projects implemented in regions.

During the Project Days all Latvian citizen will have an access to more than 150 projects financed by European Union funds. Majority is public EU fund projects implemented in municipalities: renovated schools, kindergartens, children and youth centres, culture historical and tourism objects, new concert halls, buildings with improved heat insulation, as well as new pedestrian and bicycle roads and improved streets.

Projects of the Open Days of European Union Fund Projects represents cohesion policies or EU fund financing for growth in 2007-2013 in amount of 3.2 billion lats, which is the most considerable investment in Latvia and makes 70% of the total public financing. Thanks to it living standards in Latvia have come much closer to the EU average.

The Project Days are organized by the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with programming regions, the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments and the Association of Latvian Cities.
