State Border Guard vessel RK-12 "VALPAS" resumes participation in Frontex operation "Greece 2025"

State Border Guard vessel RK-12 "VALPAS" resumes participation in Frontex joint operation "Greece 2025".

From March 22, 2025, officials from the State Border Guard and officers from the State Police, using the State Border Guard vessel RK-12 "VALPAS", resumed participation in the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) joint operation "Greece 2025" by providing support to the related Greek services in the Aegean Sea. The aim of this joint operation is to ensure maritime border surveillance using the technical resources and experts of the member states to reduce the pressure of illegal migration on Greece's external sea borders.

Following the resumption of participation in the joint operation, the State Border Guard vessel RK-12 "VALPAS" with its crew, while performing patrol duties, has already participated in one maritime search and rescue operation, saving the lives of 37 migrants.
