State Police College enhances modern learning environment with EU funding

Ministry of the Interior

The State Police College continues to take significant and bold steps to ensure the most modern and practically tailored learning and study environment possible. Within the European Union's Internal Security Fund project No. VP/IDF/2024/5 “Strengthening the State Police's Response Mobility by Creating a Practical Training Center,” one of the planned activities is the development of a comprehensive development construction project in its minimal composition for the territory at Ezermalas Street 8A, Riga. Thanks to previous work, the first phase of the territory's comprehensive development master plan sketch has now been completed, and active work has begun on the second phase planning, which includes developing the vision for the Internal Security Academy's new training and administrative building.

On February 13, 2025, a meeting of the Internal Security Academy's Strategic Oversight Board members was organized to identify the practical needs of the Internal Security Academy's partners, share experiences and ideas, and develop an effective, sustainable, and useful building layout within the project.

The State Police College is grateful to its partners – the Ministry of the Interior, the State Police, the University of Latvia, Riga Stradins University, and the architects – for the productive meeting! May we all succeed together in improving the practical learning environment and strengthening Latvia's internal security!

Project No. VP/IDF/2024/5 “Strengthening the State Police's Response Mobility and Counter-Terrorism Capabilities by Creating a Practical Training Center” is implemented within the European Union's Internal Security Fund 2021-2027 planning period, with the Ministry of the Interior as the managing institution in Latvia. The project is co-financed by the European Union's Internal Security Fund. The implementation period is from April 1, 2024, to December 31, 2029.
