Ministry of the Interior

Work has begun on the construction of two significant facilities – Disaster Management Centers (DMC) in Liepāja and Alsunga!

The DMC in Liepāja will house the State Fire and Rescue Service and the Ministry of the Interior's Health and Sports Center.

The DMC in Alsunga will house the State Fire and Rescue Service and the Emergency Medical Service, thereby improving the response speed and cooperation of emergency services in emergency situations.

In the Liepāja facility, the construction of building foundations, as well as the construction of external water and sewage networks and road structures, is underway, while in Alsunga, demolition work has been completed and earthworks are continuing.

The project is being implemented within the framework of the European Union's Recovery Fund project "Strengthening the capacity of rescue services, in particular the modernization of the infrastructure and material and technical base of the State Fire and Rescue Service".
