One of the most convenient and fastest ways to obtain information and consultations remains using the information hotline. Thanks to EU co-financing, such a consultation hotline (67209400) is available to clients of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs and provides up-to-date information on migration, identity documents, and other services. Last year, the capacity of the hotline was increased, allowing for faster and more efficient consultations, thus improving the quality of service and providing clients with the necessary information on weekdays.
Between June and October 2024, nearly 12,000 consultations were provided through the information hotline. As noted by the Head of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, Maira Roze, the most frequent client inquiries relate to residence permits, which account for 38% of all calls received. Questions about visas, invitations, and other migration-related topics are also regularly received. "By increasing the capacity of the information hotline, we have been able to provide clients with even higher quality service," emphasizes Maira Roze.
By calling the information hotline, clients can obtain information on various topics, including amendments to the Immigration Law, identity documents, applying for and obtaining residence permits, visas, registration of place of residence, and Personal Data Register issues. This service also provides answers regarding the granting of temporary protection status, which is particularly important for Ukrainian civilians.
The information hotline is available to clients on weekdays – from Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The information hotline is financed from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027 planning period project "Modernization of the Unified Migration Information System Software Platform (Phase 1)" (questions about entry and stay in the Republic of Latvia), as well as from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs budget funds (questions about other services provided by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs).
