The participation of the State Police of Latvia officers in the EU monitoring mission in Georgia and Armenia has been extended

Ministry of the Interior

On November 5, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to extend the participation of the State Police of Latvia officers in the EU monitoring missions in Armenia and Georgia. Latvia's active involvement in these missions is a significant contribution to international efforts to promote security and stability in the region.

Currently, 18 Latvian seconded experts are working in EU civilian missions, of which 12 are in Georgia, 4 in Ukraine, and 2 in Armenia.

Latvia's participation in EU monitoring missions not only strengthens our country's reputation as a responsible and reliable international partner but also enhances our ability to respond to global security challenges.

The synergy between the state budget and EU funding ensures that Latvia can effectively implement its security policy objectives, strengthening the security of not only our country but also the region.
