The State Border Guard has started the implementation of the EU co-funded project "Creation of a National (Common) Situational Picture (3rd phase)."

The 3rd phase of the project will be implemented until December 31, 2025.

Project activities are focused on the implementation of new technologies to ensure that State Border Guard units and the National Coordination Center have better situational awareness at the state border, allowing for faster decision-making and response to events at the state border, border zone, and border area in both normal and enhanced border control regimes. This, in turn, will contribute to more effective detection, monitoring (tracking), and apprehension of illegally entering or wanted persons, as well as vehicles used in offenses or crimes.

The project is being implemented within the framework of the Financial Instrument for Borders and Visa Policy for the 2021-2027 period, with the Ministry of the Interior as the managing institution in Latvia.

The project will contribute to the implementation of the EU Security Strategy and protect fundamental rights and European values.
