Ensuring the safety of Latvian residents online is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Interior!
The State Police will become even stronger in the fight against cybercrime! On March 12, 2025, the European Union's Internal Security Fund 2021-2027 project No. VP/IDF/2024/7 "Establishment of a Digital Forensics Data Processing Platform in the State Police" was launched. Its aim is to enhance the effectiveness of the State Police in combating cybercrime and related serious and especially serious crimes.
To achieve this, several activities are planned during the project implementation, such as the purchase of computer hardware, specialized equipment, and software in line with modern technological solutions. It is also planned to improve the qualifications of personnel through various training courses and to organize a regional-level seminar on combating and preventing cybercrime. However, the main activity, as the project title suggests, is the creation of a digital forensics data processing platform to strengthen the State Police's capabilities in the fight against cybercrime and related serious and especially serious crimes.
