EU funds under the responsibility of the Ministry of Interior are focused on measures for asylum, migration and the integration of third-country nationals, integrated border management and internal security, helping EU Member States to address the growing challenges in these policy areas.

The Internal Security Fund aims to promote a high level of security in the EU, in particular by combating terrorism and radicalization, serious and organized crime and cybercrime, and by supporting and protecting victims of crime. The Fund supports measures to improve information exchange, strengthen cross-border cooperation, including joint operations in the fight against terrorism and organized crime, and strengthen capacity to prevent and combat crime.

The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund aims to help manage migration flows effectively and to implement, strengthen and develop a common asylum policy and a common immigration policy in response to growing migration challenges. For the period 2021-2027, it sets out four specific objectives: asylum policy, legal migration and integration, irregular migration and return, and solidarity and responsibility sharing between Member States.

The financial support instrument for border management and visa policy (financial support instrument) aims to develop and implement a strong and effective European integrated border management at the external borders, thereby helping to ensure a high level of internal security in the EU while ensuring the free movement of persons within it.
