On August 29, 2024, a delegation from border guard agencies of Central Asian and European Union countries, as well as experts from European Union agencies, visited the State Border Guard College. Delegation representatives familiarized themselves with the technical and material resources of the State Border Guard College, visited the college's infrastructure facilities, including modern and well-equipped classrooms. Guests visited the exhibition of the State Border Guard Museum, which presented the history of the college.

Particular attention was paid to the presentation of the training process for Central Asian dog handlers, providing the delegation with an insight into the progress of this project. Previously, it was reported that a 12-week training course "Training and Cooperation in the Field of Cynology" is taking place at the State Border Guard College's Cynology Center from July 1 to September 27, 2024, with the participation of dog handlers from five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

European Union funds provide invaluable support for strengthening the cynology capabilities in Latvia.
