On September 15, 2023 the opening event of the Zemgale branch of the project “One-stop agency” will be held in Jelgava. The branch is part of a network of regional branches, which is formed with the aim of providing information support and services in one place to third country citizens and beneficiaries of international protection, which are necessary when moving to Latvia, for successful socio-economic inclusion of persons.
During the event, there will be a discussion “What should we do to include foreigners?” as well as representatives of the one-stop agency will present the operational objectives of the agency.
Within the framework of the Asylum Migration and integration Fund (2021-2027), the Ministry of Culture, as the delegated authority of this fund, signed a contract with the Society Integration Foundation on 23 April 2023 regarding the granting of financing for the implementation of the project “one-stop agency”. The total eligible costs for implementation of the project are EUR 2 559 526.00; of which the financing of the fund – EUR 1 919 644.50 and financing of the state budget – EUR 639 881.50.
The objective of the project is to provide timely support to third-country nationals who have received the right to reside in the territory of Latvia and persons who need international protection (refugees, persons granted alternative status and asylum seekers) and who are lawfully residing in the territory of Latvia during the initial integration phase in order to facilitate the integration of third-country nationals and the development of a cohesive society by establishing a systemic and uniform national approach. It is intended to provide the necessary information and advice support in one place at the “one-stop shop” while improving cooperation between representatives of different sectors.
