Decreased EU funds technical assistance to public administration institutions 

On Tuesday, May 19, the Government adopted amendments submitted by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to the Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers (CoM) regarding technical assistance activities within three operational programmes of the European Union (EU) funds – “Human Resources and Employment”, “Entrepreneurship and Innovations” and “Infrastructure and Services”.

Amendments envisage decrease in the amount of EU funds technical assistance (TA) eligible costs in already approved projects by 1/5 part or approximately 10 million lats. Therefore effectiveness of the EU funds TA activities will be improved and useful utilisation of financial resources available within the TA activities will be ensured. 

Objective of the EU funds TA activities is to ensure performance of the EU funds management, support and monitoring functions co-financing evaluation of the EU funds, informative and publicity measures, establishment, implementation and development of management information system, as well as financial control and auditing. Target group of the EU funds TA activities is public administration institutions involved in management, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and control of the three operational programmes.
