EU fund managing authorities of the Baltic States participate in European Week of Regions and Cities (Open Days)
On October 10, in Brussels, EU fund managing authorities of the Baltic States participate in European Week of Regions and Cities (Open Days). Representatives from Latvia inform about the biggest European structural fund communication projects in Latvia – Latvian Television program „Euro Bus”, Latvian Radio program „European Fund Key”, Regional European Union (EU) structural fund information centres. In addition, examples of projects implemented by several companies with support of structural funds will also be given. Among the above mentioned companies there were beneficiaries of European Regional Development Fund - „Emihls Gustavs Chocolate”, „Latvijas Keramika”, „Varis Toys SIA” and „SIA Lāči”, beneficiaries of European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund – „Pure Food” and, „AS Rīgas piena kombināts”, as well as beneficiaries of European Social Fund – Saldus Day-Care Centre and Vecbebri Professional Secondary School.
Latvia and Estonia are the first from new EU Member States which make radio and TV programs to ensure recognition of EU funds and to encourage the public to use possibilities provided by structural funds. Regional EU structural fund information centres show good results in information provision for regions.
In the seminar Latvia will be represented by Lita Kokale, Head of EU Fund Department Public Relation Division of the Ministry of Finance, and Imants Tiesnieks, Counsellor, Ministry of Finance, in the Permanent Representation of Latvia to the EU. Participants of the seminar are representatives of European Union regions.
