Redistributed additional financing to education and science promotion EU funds activities
On Tuesday, June 2, in the Cabinet of Ministers the Government approved amendments prepared by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to the European Union (EU) funds operational programme (OP) “Entrepreneurship and Innovations” complement. Amendments envisage allocation of additional financing to EU funds activities directly promoting development of entrepreneurship and science in current economic situation.
The Government took a decision on redistribution of additional financing in amount of 5 million lats to activities under the competence of the Ministry of Education and Science directed at development of science infrastructure providing possibility to finance study of pharmaceutics technologies, establishment of research centre and biopharmaceutics centre according to good practice standards.
Amendments envisage redistribution of additional financing in amount of 15 million lats to the activity under the competence of the Ministry of Economics (MoE) to promote high value added investment, therefore supporting export of large-scale investment projects and increase in business competitiveness.
The Government also approved redistribution of additional financing in amount of 4.4 million lats to the activity under the competence of the MoE for acquisition of foreign markets and promotion of foreign marketing. The objective of the activity is to support foreign marketing abroad, as well as measures influencing participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in international exhibitions and trade missions.
Amendments were made according to the Minutes of the CoM sitting held on April 21, when the Government evaluated proposals prepared by the MoF working group regarding the EU funds activities implementation evaluated additionally according to current economic situation in the state, for which the financing has been reduced and for which additional financing has been allocated.
