Representatives of the Ministry of Interior meet with representatives of non-governmental organisations

Ministry of the Interior

On 1 March 2023, the Ministry of Interior invited representatives of non-governmental sector organisations who provide support to Ukrainian civilian populations in Latvia to meet in order to identify their planned support measures and needs and to prepare an Information Report to the Cabinet of Ministers on the basis thereof.

The Ministry of Interior highly appreciates the work of Latvian non-governmental organisations and the support provided to Ukrainian refugees, as well as constructive cooperation.

At the end of 2022, the European Commission granted Latvia additional funding to support Ukrainian civilian populations under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

Part of this money is planned by the Ministry of Interior to propose to the Government to redirect it to non-governmental organisations (the Public Integration Fund for Administration).

The Ministry of Interior is currently preparing an Informative Report to the Cabinet of Ministers for taking a decision regarding the use of these funds.
