In order to promote dialogue between industry experts and active citizens, the Ministry of Transport had prepared a discussion and activities program “Next stop – sustainable mobility” at the annual conversation festival LAMPA, taking place on June 9 and 10. The program consisted of various events and themes dealing with sustainable mobility, focussing on three main aspects: environmentally friendly, comfortable and safe.
The shift in the transportation model relies on clean fuels, comfort, convenience and safety. The Ministry of Transport together with its cooperation partners attracted a wide range of visitors – active people who were interested to engage in direct face-to-face conversations about the way we travel and about the future of sustainable mobility. Information on EU funded projects contributing to sustainable multimodal mobility with a focus on public transport was widely provided. Many thanks are to be expressed to our colleagues for their preparation, participation and openness towards the visitors, representing the ministry at the festival.
Instead of the usual stage and discussion, this year the festival provided a new experience both for the participants and the organizers. Face-to-face conversations revealed the citizens' interest in learning about current events in the traffic and communications sector, as well as the desire to be listened to and heard. The discussions were intense and full opinions. This new format showed that the public administration is open and dialogue - oriented. We have gained experience and collected ideas in order to be more convincing and accessible to the citizens next year.
The participation of the Ministry of Transport at the conversation festival LAMPA was co-financed by the European Union Funds 2021-2027 and the Connecting Europe Facility.
