Ministry of the Interior

The State Fire and Rescue Service, in co-operation with the State Provision Agency has started implementation of the project “CBRNE and establishment of a training landfill for man-made disaster rescue works - phase 2” (VUGD/IDF/2023/6) (hereinafter - Project).

The project is a continuation or phase 2 of the previous project – the Internal Security Fund 2014-2020 project “CBRNE and establishment of a training landfill for man-made disaster rescue works”.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to complete construction of the started training site, as well as to equip it with different types of additional training equipment and techniques, which would allow improvement of the professional skills and readiness of officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service and the Fire Safety and Civil Protection College to respond in case of disasters.

At the built and equipped training site, cadets of the College of Fire Safety and Civil Protection and officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service will be able to acquire the necessary experience in the elimination of technogenic disasters on a regular basis, by working in co-operation with other services, as well as by improving the skills and knowledge of utilization to be equipped. The enhanced response capacity will increase overall public safety and mitigate the negative impact of disasters.

The project is being implemented under the Internal Security Fund 2021-2027. The total financing of the project is EUR 1 743 735, of which 75% or EUR 1 307 801 is co-financing of the European Union, while 25% or EUR 435 934 is financing from State budget resources.

Implementation of the project started in January 2024 and is planned to be completed by the end of 2024.
