The State Border Guard College's renovated Professional and Tactical Training Center Stadium is grandly opened. Grand opening was celebrated with the Ministry of the Interior Open Football Championship-2024.
The stadium's improvement was carried out within the framework of the European Union-funded project ENI-LLB-2-269 "Improvement of capacity of border guarding institutions combating cross border smuggling and illegal immigration by development of service dog handling"
State Border Guard College Principal Colonel Māris Petrušins noted in his address that the renovation work did not go without a hitch, but the desired result was achieved and the renovated State Border Guard College stadium is successfully renovated and ready to welcome athletes from all State Border Guard territorial administrations and other Ministry of the Interior institutions.
Marking the opening of the renovated stadium, the Ministry of the Interior Open Football Championship-2024 was held, with teams from the State Police, State Border Guard, State Fire and Rescue Service, State Police Riga Regional Administration, Ministry of the Interior institutions and the United Municipal Police Officers' Team (Riga Municipal Police) participating. Each team consisted of 12 members.
The winners were determined in a fierce competition:
1st place: State Fire and Rescue Service team
2nd place: State Border Guard team
3rd place: State Police / State Police Riga Regional Administration team
Two teams - the State Police Vidzeme Regional Administration and the State Police College - scored the same number of points and finished in 4th place.
