Two discussions on issues of importance to society have been held at the European Union House and online

On May 15, 2024, the Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, organized two discussions at the European Union House and online to address issues of public importance, marking 20 years since Latvia's accession to the European Union.

The first discussion, titled "State Police: 20 Years in the European Union," explored the changes that have taken place in the daily work of the State Police over the past two decades and envisioned its future.

The second discussion, titled "20 Years in the European Union: From the First Steps to Integration and Participation," focused on the integration services provided by the One-Stop Agency for integration of foreigners from third countries. The discussion also featured views from representatives of municipalities, non-governmental organizations, and a newcomer sharing her experience of inclusion in Latvian society and the challenges of building a cohesive society.

The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Culture express gratitude to the European Commission Representation in Latvia for its cooperation, as well as to the discussion participants and moderator.
