Ministry of the Interior

At the beginning of July 2023, a cooperation agreement was signed between the State Provision Agency and the SJSC “State Real Estate” regarding the implementation of the project “Development of the plan for the construction of the border infrastructure of the Republic of Latvia - the Republic of Belarus and the implementation of construction works - metal towers and access roads to the towers (Round 3, Stage 1)” (project No. NVA/RPVP/2023/1).

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to construct six towers and access roads to them for ensuring security at the Latvia's external border (Republic of Latvia and Republic of Belarus) in the part of Daugava river. The works will be carried out on the basis of the combined “design and construct” principle.

The project is scheduled to be completed by 31 December 2024. The total cost of the project is €3,633 924 (€2.725 443 European Union funding, €908 481 state budget funding).

The project implementer is the State Provision Agency, the co-operation partner is the SJSC State Real Estate, the managing authority - the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Latvia. The project is co-financed by the European Union.

The general purpose of the project is the development of the infrastructure necessary for the guarding of the foreign land border of the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Belarus.
