With EU support, the implementation of the 1st stage of the construction of the State Border Guard College's Cynology Center complex has begun

The State Border Guard College has commenced the implementation of the project "Construction of the 1st stage of the State Border Guard College's Cynology Center complex."

Project Implementation Objectives:

  • Establish a new, specialized Cynology Center for basic training of service dogs.

  • Implement a centralized and development-oriented training system for law enforcement officers and their service dogs.

  • Ensure the full and modern fulfillment of tasks in accordance with contemporary requirements.

  • Enhance the working conditions of personnel and the maintenance of service dogs.

  • Provide secure and environmentally friendly storage of training materials.

Project Funding:

Total project funding: EUR 5,051,367.

EU co-financing: EUR 3,788,525.

State budget funding: EUR 1,262,842.

Project Implementation Framework:

  • The project is being implemented within the framework of the Financial Instrument for Border Management and Visa Policy for the period 2021-2027.

  • The managing authority in Latvia for this instrument is the Ministry of the Interior.
