Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development

On July 4, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft order prepared by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM) on improving the usability of the Latvija.lv portal and modernizing the e-address*, which will allow the user to more conveniently and quickly receive the necessary information and perform the desired actions.

On the Latvija.lv portal, interested parties can find the information they need about the public services provided by state and local government institutions, the ways of requesting and receiving them, service-related payments and service descriptions, request and receive e-services from several institutions, as well as access their e-address. By developing the usability and functionality of the Latvija.lv portal, the experience of using the portal will be improved, residents will have the option of browsing their data in a wider range of state registers, and it is also planned to develop a personalized and proactive offer of state services. On the other hand, institutions will have an improved environment for creating and deploying e-services with self-service options. Within the framework of the project, connection with the unified European data exchange system for the exchange of administrative information will also be ensured, which will ensure that the data necessary for receiving the services of the state institution, with the permission of the resident, can also be transferred to other member states, thus avoiding the request of certificates from the resident. Planned project costs - 9,418,752 euro, incl. funding of the Recovery and Resilience Facility in the amount of 8,064,000 euro and the state budget for covering VAT in the amount of 1,354,752 euro.

On the other hand, by improving the functionality of the e-address, the usability of the e-address will be improved and the possibilities of communication between the users of the e-address will be expanded, gradually expanding the use of the e-address to a wider circle of citizens, as well as introducing communication between private individuals in certain areas. Planned project costs – 5,396,160 euro, incl. financing of the Recovery and Resilience Facility in the amount of 4,620,000 euro and state budget financing for VAT costs in the amount of 776,160 euro.
